Mae Mercer. Actress. 11 June 1932 to 29 October 2008. An American blues singer who initially found success in Europe, Mercer made her film debut soon after this in Le Glaive Et La Balance (1963). She had a cameo in The Hell With Heroes (1968) and more substantial roles in The Beguiled (1971), Dirty Harry (1971) and Pretty Baby (1978).
