He was an actor, known for Liebe, Tod und Teufel (1934), Berlin-Alexanderplatz: The Story of Franz Biberkopf (1931) and Donogoo Tonka (1936). He was married to Elz Rothenaicher. He died on 10 March 1957 in Gaildorf, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
