Edward R. Egan (January 3, 1930 – November 4, 1995) was an American actor and former police detective. He was the subject of the nonfiction book The French Connection and its 1971 film adaptation .
Eddie Egan (1930-1995) was a New York City police officer who made a 112-pound heroin bust in 1962. He also acted in TV shows and movies, including playing his own boss in The French Connection (1971), which was based on his exploits.
