Edwin Lee Mathews (October 13, 1931 – February 18, 2001) was an American professional baseball third baseman. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for 17 seasons for the Boston / Milwaukee / Atlanta Braves (1952–1966); Houston Astros (1967) and Detroit Tigers (1967–68).

4 de ene. de 2012 · Eddie Mathews, the only man to play for the Braves in Boston, Milwaukee, and Atlanta, burst into stardom in 1953, the team’s first season in Milwaukee, when he belted 47 home runs at the age of 21.
A 12-time All-Star, Mathews led the NL in walks four times and twice finished second in the NL Most Valuable Player Award voting. When he retired he also held the big league third base records for games (2,181), assists (4,322) and chances (6,371).
