is the sixth film in the Hornblower TV series. It is loosely based on part of Lieutenant Hornblower, and first aired in 2001.

In a variation to the book, 33 men desert, led by Randall, but are killed by a freed slave group led by Le Fanu. The attack on the fort occurs in broad daylight, with the defenders pre-warned as Le Fanu has stolen the shore party's boats and approached HMS Renown, and shots are exchanged. Hornblower captures the fort through a tunnel, throwing gunpowder barrels like Donkey Kong. Le Fanu harries Hornblower as he fires the 9pdr, and Buckland is tempted to leave his 3 lieutenants behind when they try to slight the fort, as a wedge is being forced between them by Captain Sawyer who has lucid moments.

Henry Wellard is killed by the Spanish uprising on the ship. At the court-martial Buckland accuses Hornblower of pushing Sawyer, but a mortally wounded Kennedy issues a false confession to the crime before he dies, to save Hornblower's reputation.
