Experimente el transporte marítimo en el edificio de almacén más antiguo que se conserva en Hamburgo, en el centro de HafenCity: El Museo Marítimo Internacional de Hamburgo ofrece un recorrido de descubrimiento único a través de nueve cubiertas temáticas con más de 100.000 exposiciones sobre la historia del transporte marítimo.
El Museo Marítimo Internacional de Hamburgo, o «Internationales Maritimes Museum Hamburg» en alemán, es un interesante museo que fue creado por el periodista Peter Tamm, albergando su colección personal de modelos de barcos, dando a conocer varios años de historia.
Desde la calle, este museo ubicado en la zona del puerto viejo de Hamburgo, parece poco llamativo, pero en su interior esta uno de los mejores museos temáticos que haya visitado. Esta muy bien organizado, con excelentes colecciones y asombrosos modelos de todo tipo de barcos: mercantes, de pasajeros, de guerra, etc.
El museo, ubicado en la HafenCity, contiene las colecciones privadas del expolítico hamburgués Peter Tamm, que comprenden desde modelos de barcos hasta planes de construcción, piezas de astilleros, uniformes y arte marítimo y naval.
