The Housemartins fue un grupo inglés de indie pop formado en 1983 por Paul Heaton (vocalista), Stan Cullimore (guitarrista), Ted Key (bajista) y Chris Lang (baterista). La banda sufrió una serie de cambios a través de los años, hasta estabilizarse con Norman Cook en lugar de Ted Key y Hugh Whitaker en lugar de Chris Lang.

- Me and the farmer. En el caso de Housemartins me ha costado mucho elegir sus 10 mejores debido a la alta calidad de todo su repertorio. Me decanto para el primer puesto por este clásico temazo, una flecha ácida contra los terratenientes, los cuales parecen ser los granjeros de Inglaterra y los trabajadores son tratados como animales con la complicidad del clero anglicano (otra institución el punto de mira de la banda al igual que la monarquía inglesa).
- Happy Hour. Un hit bestial. Resulta muy prototípica del peculiar sonido pop-soul-rockabilly-R&B de los HM. Siempre tan divertidos en sus clips, aquí vamos hacia una historia de bebedores de pub después de salir del trabajo, donde un jefe acosa a su secretaria en medio de la fiesta cervecera tan típicamente británica.
