In Extremo (en latín: en el fin o en el extremo) se formó por la unión de dos proyectos musicales: una banda de música medieval y otra de Rock. Se conocieron a través de encuentros en festivales y mercados medievales, en las que tocaron sus piezas acústicas.
In Extremo (Latin for At the Edge; abbreviated InEx or IE) is a German Medieval metal band originating from Berlin. The band's musical style combines metal with Medieval traditional songs, blending the sound of the standard rock/metal instruments with historical instruments (such as bagpipes, harp, hurdy-gurdy and shawm).
