Ron Blake (born September 7, 1965) is an American saxophonist, band leader, composer, and music educator. Born in the Virgin Islands, he attended Northwestern University, and now lives in New York City.
The Grammy and Emmy Award winning saxophonist and composer has worked extensively with Roy Hargrove, Christian McBride, Roy Haynes, Art Farmer, Meshell Ndgeocello, Yerba Buena, and recently completed his 18th season with NBC’s Saturday Night Live Band.
Biography. Tenor saxophonist Ron Blake and guitarist Bobby Broom have played together many times over the years, going back to Broom’s 1997 album, Waitin’ and Waitin,’ and beyond. It was Broom who hired Blake for his band shortly after his college years.

11 de oct. de 2023 · Saxophonist Ron Blake returned to the recording studio for the first time in 15 years to make his new album Mistaken Identity. The tenor and baritone player partnered with guitarist Bobby Broom (who also serves as producer), enlisting a rhythm section comprising bassists Nat Reeves and Reuben Rogers and drummer Kobie Watkins.
