Johnny Paycheck, born as Donald Eugene Lytle, was a country music artist, who was born in Ohio in 1938 and died at the beginning of 2003. In his younger years, he played the bass.
From 1962-66, PayCheck was the front man and bass player for George Jones’ band, the Jones Boys. The singer re-invented himself as Johnny PayCheck, taking his name from a professional boxer. In 1966, he hooked up with producer Aubrey Mayhew and legally changed his name.
