William John Arthur Charles James Cavendish-Bentinck, 6th Duke of Portland, KG, GCVO, GCStJ, TD, PC, DL (28 December 1857 – 26 April 1943), known as William Cavendish-Bentinck until 1879, was a British landowner, courtier, and Conservative politician.

William was the grandson of Lord [William] Charles Augustus Cavendish-Bentinck, and a great-grandson of the 3rd Duke of Portland. He succeeded to the title when his cousin the 5th Duke of Portland died without heirs in 1879.

Manuscripts and Special Collections. William was the son of the 6th Duke of Portland and, like his father, was educated at Eton. He then attended Sandhurst before embarking on a military career, serving in the Royal Horse Guards and seeing active service in France during the First World War.
