Sir Frederick Haldimand, KB (born François Louis Frédéric Haldimand; 11 August 1718 – 5 June 1791) was a Swiss military officer best known for his service in the British Army in North America during the Seven Years' War and the American Revolutionary War.
Sir Frederick Haldimand was a British general who served as governor of Quebec province from 1778 to 1786. Haldimand entered British service in 1756 as a lieutenant colonel in the Royal American Regiment. He served in Jeffery Amherst’s expedition (1760) against Montreal during the Seven Years’ War.

Frederick Haldimand came from a German family of comparatively humble origins which apparently settled at Thun in Switzerland during the 16th century. In 1671, however, Gaspard Haldimand, Frederick’s grandfather and a wet cooper by trade, became an inhabitant of the commune of Yverdon.
The Papers contain the correspondence and records of Frederick Haldimand in his role as a military officer, commander, and governor at various locations that included Trois-Rivières, Florida, New York, and Quebec.
3 de jun. de 2016 · On 25 October 1784, Sir Frederick Haldimand, the governor of the province Quebec, signed a decree that granted a tract of land to the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois), also known as the Six Nations, in compensation for their alliance with British forces during the American Revolution (1775–83).
Frederick Haldimand was a Swiss-born British army officer who arrived in North America in 1756 during the opening years of the French and Indian War. Except for a hiatus in Britain from 1775 to 1778, Haldimand remained in North America until 1784.
