Thomas J. D’Alesandro, Jr. (August 1, 1903-August 23, 1987) served as a member of the Maryland General Assembly, and then in the U.S. Congress and finally, three-terms as Mayor of Baltimore. D’Alesandro’s name has returned to prominence with the election of his daughter, Nancy D’Alesandro Pelosi (D-CA) as Speaker of the House.
