Muhammad Bairam Khan (Persian: محمد بیرم خان; 18 January 1501 – 31 January 1561), commonly known as Bairam Khan or Bayram Khan was an important military commander, and later commander-in-chief of the Mughal army, a powerful statesman and regent at the court of the Mughal Emperors, Humayun and Akbar.

Bairam Khan also Bayram Khan (d. 1561) was an Afghan military general who served as the regent to the underage Mughal ruler Akbar, who came to power in 1556. Bairam was very important in securing Akbar's rule during the young ruler's first years in power.

Although the period of Bairam Khan’s regency is very brief, that is, from 1556-1560, he played very important role in guiding footsteps of Akbar while he was too young to establish his power.
While the main army could not be spared due to the belligerent presence of Sikandar Shah Suri, the 13-year-old Akbar's regent, Bairam Khan, realised the gravity of the situation and dispatched his most capable lieutenant, Pir Muhammad Sharwani, to Delhi.
