Hakeem Sekou Jeffries (/ ˌ h ɑː ˈ k iː m / hah-KEEM; born August 4, 1970) is an American politician and attorney who has served as House Minority Leader and Leader of the House Democratic Caucus since 2023.
We passed the American Rescue Plan, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, gun safety legislation for the first time in 30 years, the CHIPS and Science Act and the Inflation Reduction Act. It was one of the most consequential Congresses in American history.
