I will show that among literary vectors of memory three texts, written in the 1950s by Pirro, Terrosi, and Lunardi, helped readers gain awareness of Italy's role as a repressive power, thanks to representations of the Italian use of violence and a thematisation of the protagonists' sense of guilt.
