Donald Cameron of Lochiel (c. 1695 – 26 October 1748), popularly known as the Gentle Lochiel, was a Scottish Jacobite, soldier and hereditary chief of Clan Cameron, traditionally loyal to the exiled House of Stuart.

Donald Angus Cameron of Lochiel, CVO, JP, DL (2 August 1946 – 20 October 2023) was the 27th Lochiel of Clan Cameron in the Scottish Highlands. He served as Lord Lieutenant of Inverness from 2002 to 2021.
Donald Cameron (twenty-fourth chief, eldest son of Donald Cameron) of Lochiel was born in 1835 and educated at Harrow. As a young man he entered the Diplomatic Service, and was appointed 1st attache in Lord Elgin's mission to China in 1857, and afterwards to the embassy at Berlin.
Donald was the Honorary Chief of the Association, and was in the chair two years later, to help inaugurate the society. It is perhaps his greatest gift to the Camerons of the international community, who still embrace that Association well over one hundred years later.
