  6. Biography. Robert Cholmondeley, 1st Viscount Cholmondeley was the son of Hugh Cholmondeley and Mary Bodvile. He was the heir of Robert Cholmondeley, 1st Earl of Leinster, his uncle who died without legitimate issue and Robert inherrited the estates of his uncle Lord Leinster in 1659.

  7. He was created 1st Viscount Cholmondeley of Kells, co. Meath [Ireland] on 2 July 1628. He was created 1st Baron Cholmondeley of Wichemalbank, co. Chester [England] on 1 September 1645. He was created 1st Earl of Leinster [Ireland] on 5 March 1645/46. He died without legitimate heir on 8 Oct. 1659.
