Henry Thomas Austen (8 June 1771 – 12 March 1850) was a British militia officer, clergyman, banker and the brother of the novelist Jane Austen. He died in 1850 and was buried in Woodbury Park Cemetery, Tunbridge Wells.

Henry Thomas Austen, the fourth son of George and Cassandra, was born in Steventon in June, 1771. In a letter written shortly after Jane's birth four years later, George Austen accurately predicted the closeness that was to develop between Jane and Henry: "She is to be Jenny, and seems to me as if she would be as like Henry, as Cassy is to Neddy."

Henry Austen, working on a burgeoning banking career on his own with help from his brother’s investing, doubled as Jane’s literary agent and approached London publisher Thomas Egerton with the manuscript for Sense & Sensibility.
