Lawrence James Springborg AM (born 17 February 1968) is an Australian politician. He led the National Party in the Queensland Parliament from 2003 to 2006 and again in 2008, before becoming the first leader of the merged Liberal National Party from 2008 to 2009.
24 de jul. de 2021 · Queensland Liberal National Party (LNP) stalwart Lawrence Springborg has been elected president of the party at the state convention in Brisbane. Mr Springborg, currently the Mayor of Goondiwindi in southern Queensland, was a long-serving state MP and became the first leader of the LNP when the two parties merged in 2008.
Lawrence Springborg. President Lawrence was born in 1968 and is a fourth generation Queenslander. With Linda, his wife of 31 years, the couple brought up four children on their farm in southern Queensland. He became a party member at the age of 16 and at the age of 21 was elected as the youngest ever Member of the Queensland Parliament.
