Sir John Blount (by 1471 – 27 February 1531) was an English politician. His daughter, Elizabeth, was a Lady-in-Waiting to Consort Queen of England Catherine of Aragon, and later, a mistress to King of England Henry VIII.

9 de jul. de 2022 · John Blount was the son of William Blount, later a U.S. senator, and a Coushatta woman. While in Florida, he became principal chief of the Apalachee or Apalachicola Indians. During the First Seminole War (1814-1815), he achieved a certain level of distinction by serving as a guide to General Andrew Jackson.
When Mary Boleyn displaced Elizabeth as the object of the King’s affection, John Blount apparently retired from the court to manage his estates and to play a more active role in local government. In 1526 he obtained livery of his inheritance and a year later he wrote to Cromwell to intercede on his behalf with Wolsey.
