Johann Friedrich, Freiherr Cotta von Cottendorf (27 April 1764 – 29 December 1832) was a German publisher, industrial pioneer and politician.

Fundada por Johann Georg Cotta (1631-1692). Johann Friedrich Cotta (1764-1832) fundó en 1798 el "Allgemeine Zeitung". La firma con base en Tubinga tuvo filiales en Stuttgart y en Munich además de otros negocios en la década de 1840. Fue comprada por Adolf y Paul Kroner in 1889.
