On his death the titles passed to his son George Henry Lee, the 3rd Earl. He represented Oxfordshire in the House of Commons and served as Captain of the Honourable Band of Gentlemen Pensioners from 1762 to 1772. He died childless and was succeeded by his grand-uncle Robert, the 4th Earl. He was also childless.

7 de feb. de 2024 · From him was descended Sir Edward Henry Lee, fifth Baronet, Colonel of the first Foot Guards, who was elevated to the Peerage as Earl of Lichfield, by letters patent, on the 5th of June, 1674; Robert, the fourth Earl, died on the 4th of November, 1776, without issue, when the earldom of Lichfield and minor honors became extinct.*
