Theodore Strickland [1] (born August 4, 1941) is an American politician who served as the 68th governor of Ohio from 2007 to 2011. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served in the United States House of Representatives, representing Ohio's 6th congressional district (1993–1995, 1997–2007).
Strickland took office as the nation teetered on the brink of economic collapse. He worked to tackle this crisis with a plan to ensure Ohio emerged from the recession even stronger than it was before by laying a foundation for economic progress and a thriving middle class.
