Guy I, Count of Ponthieu. Guy I of Ponthieu (also known in the Bayeux Tapestry as Wido) was born sometime in the mid- to late 1020s and died 13 October 1100. He succeeded his brother (or possibly father) Enguerrand as Count of Ponthieu.

The County of Ponthieu (French: Comté de Ponthieu, Latin: Comitatus Pontivi), centered on the mouth of the Somme, became a member of the Norman group of vassal states when Count Guy submitted to William the Conqueror, Duke of Normandy after the battle of Mortemer.
14 de oct. de 2019 · Guy, the count on the Bayeaux tapestry, sought to be revenged for his brother’s death by joining forces against William. Unfortunately he was captured following the Battle of Mortemer (6 th Feb 1054) and spent the next two years in custody at Bayeux until he was released having sworn fealty to Duke William.
Guy I de Montreuil Count of Ponthieu was born in Picardie, France as the son of Hugues II de Ponthieu comte de Ponthieu and Bertha d' Aumale dame d'Aumale. He married Adila d’Amiens about 1053, in France. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 6 daughters.
