  6. Abstract. This chapter presents a short biography of John Mason Neale. He was born in Holborn, London, on 24 January 1818. His parents were the Revd Cornelius Neale and Susanna Neale. He died at age forty-eight on 6 August 1866 at Sackville College and was buried in East Grinstead parish churchyard.
