Jahān Shāh was the leader (c. 1438–67) of the Turkmen Kara Koyunlu (“Black Sheep”) in Azerbaijan. Under Jahān Shāh’s rule the Kara Koyunlu extended their domain over Iraq, Fārs, and Eṣfahān (1453).
