Martim Afonso Chichorro (1250–1313) was a Portuguese nobleman, who served in the Court of Denis of Portugal (his half brother). Biography. Born in Portugal, Martim was the illegitimate son of Afonso III of Portugal and Madragana. He was married to Inês Lourenço de Valadares (or de Sousa), daughter of Lourenço Soares de Valadares.
Do rei D. Afonso III de Portugal, seu pai, recebeu 1.000 libras de ouro, o couto e a Torre de Santo Estêvão, que era propriedade pertencente à família real localizada no termo da Vila Santo Estêvão, e ainda o Senhorio de Santarém, que passaria a ser seu e da sua descendência.
The descendants are of the marriage of Martim Afonso Chichorro and Inês Lourenço de Sousa. Its origin starts with the Visigoth Kings and the name was first used in the 11th century, by Lord Egas Gomes de Sousa, heir to the house and to several royal lineages.
