Duchess Helene of Mecklenburg-Strelitz (16 January 1857 – 28 August 1936) was a daughter of Duke Georg August of Mecklenburg-Strelitz and his wife, Grand Duchess Catherine Mikhailovna of Russia. She was the second wife of Prince Albert of Saxe-Altenburg.

Her Highness Helene Marie Alexandra Elisabeth Auguste Katharine, Duchess of Mecklenburg, Princess of Wenden, Schwerin and Ratzeburg, Countess of Schwerin, Lady of the Lands of Rostock and Stargard, was born on 16 January 1857 in St Petersburg. She was the daughter of Duke Georg and Duchess Ekaterina.
Duchess Helene spent her early years in Germany at the Remplin Palace in Mecklenburg until it was largely destroyed in a fire instigated by the local Nazi authorities during the night 10 to 11 April 1940.

The Mecklenburg-Strelitz dynasty ended just prior to the loss of the monarchy in developments associated with World War I. At that time, there existed only two surviving recognized male dynasts of Strelitz, the young Grand Duke Adolphus Frederick VI , and his cousin Charles Michael , who was in Russian service, being a son of Grand Duchess Catherine Mikhailovna .
Helene was a daughter of Duke Georg August of Mecklenburg-Strelitz and his wife Grand Duchess Catherine Mikhailovna of Russia. In 1891 Helene became the second wife of Prince Albert of Saxe-Altenburg and stepmother to his two daughters, Olga and Marie. Her own marriage to Albert was childless.
