Duke Wartislaw IX of Pomerania-Wolgast (c. 1400 – 17 April 1457, Wolgast) was the eldest son of the Duke Barnim VI, Duke of Pomerania (dynasty of Griffins) and Veronica of Hohenzollern, daughter of Frederick V, Burgrave of Nuremberg.
Wartislaw I (Warcisław I) (c. 1092 – August 9, 1135) was the first historical ruler of the Duchy of Pomerania and the founder of the Griffin Dynasty. Most of the information about him comes from the writings on the life of Otto of Bamberg .

Between 1416 and 1418 he married Sophie of Saxe-Lauenburg, daughter of Eric IV, duke of Saxe-Lauenburg [1]. They had 4 children: Elisabeth, abbess of Bergen. Eric II, duke of Pomerania-Wolgast.
