al-Muttaqi (915-944) was the Caliph of the Abbasid Caliphate from 940 to 944, succeeding ar-Radi and preceding al-Mustakfi. al-Muttaqi was born in 915 to al-Muqtadir. He becae caliph in 940 when ar-Radi died, and he reigned for only four years before dying at the young age of 29, having been deposed and blinded by the Turkish general Tuzun.
