He is best known for his struggle against the Safavids which dominated his weakened kingdom and later as a Safavid commander-in-chief in what is now Afghanistan.

George XI or Giorgi XIor Gurgin Khan or Gorgin Khan (1651–1709), ruled Kartli, eastern Georgia, from 1676 to 1688 and again from 1703 to 1709. He is best known for his struggle, as a Safavid commander, against the rebel Afghan tribes that cost his life.
Kaikhosro (also spelled Kay Khusrau, Kai Khusraw; Georgian: ქაიხოსრო) (January 1, 1674 – September 27, 1711), of the House of Bagrationi, was a titular king (a Persian -appointed wali) of Kartli, eastern Georgia, from 1709 to 1711.
