Patrick M. Hanrahan (born 1955) is an American computer graphics researcher, the Canon USA Professor of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering in the Computer Graphics Laboratory at Stanford University.

Pat Hanrahan is Tableau’s Chief Scientist. He is also the CANON Professor of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at Stanford University, where he teaches computer graphics. His current research involves visualization, image synthesis, and graphics systems and architectures.
I am teaching a special topics course on Real-Time Graphics Architectures with Kurt Akeley. I will also be teaching Image Synthesis (spring 2006 version) .
Professor Hanrahan's current research involves rendering algorithms, high performance graphics architectures, and systems support for graphical interaction. He also has worked on raster graphics systems, computer animation and modeling and scientific visualization, in particular, volume rendering.
