Robert McCredie May, Baron May of Oxford, OM AC FRS HonFREng FAA FTSE FRSN HonFAIB (8 January 1936 – 28 April 2020) was an Australian scientist who was Chief Scientific Adviser to the UK Government, President of the Royal Society, and a professor at the University of Sydney and Princeton University.
Robert (Bob) May, Baron May of Oxford, a long-time International Member of the National Academy of Sciences, passed away on April 28, 2020, in Oxford, United Kingdom, from “frailties of old age, Alzheimer’s disease, and pneumonia,” at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife Judith, his daughter Nome, and legions of students and colleagues.
