Christen Sørensen Longomontanus (also as Longberg or Severin) (4 October 1562 – 8 October 1647) was a Danish astronomer. The name Longomontanus was a Latinized form of the name of the village of Lomborg, Jutland, Denmark, where he was born. His father, a laborer called Søren, or Severin, died when Christen was eight years old.

Christen Sørensen Longomontanus, Christen Langberg, Christen Lomberg, 4.10.1562-8.10.1647, astronom, matematiker. Født i Lomborg ved Lemvig, død i Kbh., begravet sst. (Frue k.). Efter 11 års skolegang i Viborg blev den snart 26-årige L. student 1588 og påbegyndte et universitetsstudium. Allerede 1589 fik han imidlertid læreplads hos Tyge Brahe.
