Mark Stephen Evanier (/ ˈ ɛ v ə n ɪər /; born March 2, 1952) is an American comic book and television writer, known for his work on the animated TV series Garfield and Friends and on the comic book Groo the Wanderer.

Mark Evanier, grafómano y amante de la cultura popular, comenzó a trabajar en revistas de Los Angeles recién salido del instituto, y pronto simultaneó trabajos en la industria del cómic (llegó a ser, eventualmente, ayudante de Jack Kirby) y como guionista de dibujos animados.
