The Governor is a 1977 New Zealand docudrama television miniseries on Sir George Grey, co-produced by Television One and the National Film Unit, with Grey played by English actor Corin Redgrave.
A rare Kiwi stab at a TV epic, the six-part drama proved timely and controversial, with "test match sized" audiences and a parliamentary inquiry over its costs. The Governor won Feltex Awards for Drama and Script.

The television series The Governor appeared on New Zealand screens in 1977. The series was based on the life and times of Sir George Grey, during his tenure as Governor of New Zealand from 1843 to 1853, then 1861 to 1868.
