Michael Wolgemut (formerly spelt Wohlgemuth; 1434 – 30 November 1519) was a German painter and printmaker, who ran a workshop in Nuremberg. He is best known as having taught the young Albrecht Dürer.
Michael Wolgemut (born 1434, Nürnberg [Germany]—died Nov. 30, 1519) was a leading late Gothic painter of Nürnberg in the late 15th century. After an obscure early period Wolgemut married (1472) Barbara, widow of the Nürnberg painter Hans Pleydenwurff.

Michael Wolgemut. Pintor alemán, es una figura esencial por su aportación al campo del grabado. Se inició en el arte con su padre, el también pintor Valentin Wolgemut y posteriormente amplió en Núremberg sus estudios, en el taller de Hans Pleydenwurff.
Wolgemut fue un famoso pintor y xilógrafo afincado en la ciudad imperial de Nüremberg. En 1472 se casó con la viuda del pintor Hans Pleydenwurff, heredando de este modo el próspero taller de aquel.
