Wilhelm Georg Alexander von Kügelgen (* 20. November 1802 in Sankt Petersburg; † 25. Mai 1867 in Ballenstedt) war ein deutscher Porträt- und Historienmaler, Schriftsteller, Hofmaler und Kammerherr am herzoglichen Hof von Anhalt-Bernburg.
Wilhelm Georg Alexander von Kügelgen (20 November 1802, in St.Petersburg – 25 May 1867, in Ballenstedt) was a German portrait and history painter, writer, and chamberlain at the Court of Anhalt-Bernburg.
The most renowned writer, however, was the artist Wilhelm von Kügelgen (1802‒1867), whose collection of memoirs An Old Man’s Reminiscences of His Youth offers a lively overview of intellectual and private life during the early Romantic period.

The exhibition provides insight into cultural and intellectual history in Dresden from 1785 to 1830 and presents the life story of the painter Gerhard von Kügelgen, accompanied by episodes from Childhood Memories of an Old Man by Wilhelm von Kügelgen, the eldest son of the von Kügelgen family.
