Thomas Pollock Anshutz (October 5, 1851 – June 16, 1912) was an American painter and teacher. Known for his portraiture and genre scenes, Anshutz was a co-founder of The Darby School. One of Thomas Eakins's most prominent students, he succeeded Eakins as director of drawing and painting classes at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.

Thomas Pollock Anshutz (October 5, 1851 – June 16, 1912) was an American painter and teacher. Co-founder of The Darby School and leader at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Anshutz was known for his award winning portraiture work and working friendship with Thomas Eakins.
Born in Newport, Kentucky, Thomas Anshutz studied at the National Academy of Design in New York City. He continued his education at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, where he was an assistant to the director, Thomas Eakins. In 1886 Eakins was forced to resign because of his radical teaching methods, and Anshutz succeeded him.
