Asadí Tusí nació en la ciudad de Tus, en la provincia iraní de Jorasán. Si bien existe poca información acerca de su vida, se sabe que fue un importante poeta y tuvo notable interés por las matemáticas y la teología.
Asadi Tusi is considered an important Persian poet of the Iranian national epics. His best-known work is Garshaspnameh, written in the style of the Shahnameh.

The Garshasp-nama (Persian: گرشاسپنامه) is an epic poem by Asadi Tusi (died 1072/73). It has been described as one of the best epic poems in Persian literature, comparable to Shahnameh, by Ferdowsi, and the most important work of Asadi Tusi.
Garshasp, who lived in the time of Zahhak, was Rostam’s great-great uncle. He is here depicted visiting the island of Qalun, where the blue-bodied sagsars (‘dog-heads’), excellent horsemen skilled in warfare, devoured their defeated opponents.
25 de nov. de 2017 · The eleventh-century poet Asadi Tusi compiled the oldest extant Persian dictionary, called لغات فرس “Vocabulary of the Persians” [LF]. The motivation for this work, and many other medieval Persian dictionaries or farhangs , was the explication of poetry written by others.
