William Robert Spencer (9 January 1769 – 22/23 October 1834) was an English poet and wit from the Spencer family.

He belonged to the Whig set of Charles James Fox and Richard Brinsley Sheridan and was frequently a guest of the prince of Wales.
WILLIAM ROBERT SPENCER (1769-1834), English poet and wit, was the son of Lord Charles Spencer, second son of Charles Spencer, 3rd duke of Marlborough and 5th earl of Sunderland. He was educated at Harrow and Christ Church, Oxford, but left the university without taking a degree.
