Upendrakishore Ray Chowdhury (12 May 1863 – 20 December 1915) was a Bengali writer, painter and entrepreneur. One of his written books is Chotoder Shera Bigyan Rochona Shongkolon . He was the son-in-law of reformer Dwarkanath Ganguly .

Upendrakishore Ray Chowdhury (1863-1915) was a renowned Bengali writer, entrepreneur and leading light of the Bengali Renaissance. He is perhaps best known for the verses he wrote for children in Tuntuni's Boi, his translation of the Hindu epics Ramayana and Mahabharata and the stories from Hindu mythology he presented in "Puraner Golpo".

12 de may. de 2021 · Prompted by poor woodcut reproductions of his illustrations for ‘Chheleder Ramayan’, Upendrakishore imported books, chemicals and equipment from Britain to learn the technology of block-making. In 1895, he set up the block-making business U. Ray & Sons, at 7, Shibnarayan Lane, which also became his residence.
