Korney Ivanovich Chukovsky (1882–1969) (real name, Nikolay Vasilyevich Korneychukov) is a famous writer of children’s books, publicist, critic, and translator. He was born in St. Petersburg, out of wedlock to Emmanuil Levinson, and Yekaterina Korneychukova.
