Alfonso V de Avís (Sintra, 15 de enero de 1432 - Sintra 28 de agosto de 1481) fue rey de Portugal. Era el hijo mayor sobreviviente del rey Eduardo I de Portugal y de su esposa, la infanta Leonor de Aragón .

Afonso V was the 10th king of Portugal (1438–81), known as the African from his campaigns in Morocco. The son of King Edward (Duarte) and Queen Leonor, daughter of King Ferdinand I of Aragon, Afonso succeeded to the throne at the age of six.
