Earl of Yarmouth is a title that has been created three times in British history, once in the Peerage of England and twice in the Peerage of Great Britain. The first creation came in the Peerage of England in 1679 in favour of the politician and scientist Robert Paston, 1st Viscount Yarmouth.

Earl of Yarmouth is a title that has been created three times in British history, once in the Peerage of England and twice in the Peerage of Great Britain. The first creation came in the Peerage of England in 1679 in favour of the politician and scientist Robert Paston, 1st Viscount Yarmouth.
In his Diary, Bargrave misidentifies him as “Earl of Yarmouth.” The first Earl of Yarmouth, Robert Paston (FRS and collector of curiosities at Oxnead Hall), was not created until 1679. At the time Bargrave met him, Jermyn was Earl of St. Edmundsbury.
26 de abr. de 2022 · Robert Paston, 1st Earl of Yarmouth, FRS (29 May 1631 – 8 March 1683) was an English scientist and politician who sat in the House of Commons between 1660 and 1673 when he was created Viscount Yarmouth. He was created Earl of Yarmouth in 1679. Following the creation of the Royal Society in 1660, he was accepted as an Original Fellow on 20 May 1663.
