Anna Leopoldovna (Russian: А́нна Леопо́льдовна; 18 December 1718 – 19 March 1746), born Elisabeth Katharina Christine von Mecklenburg-Schwerin and also known as Anna Carlovna (А́нна Ка́рловна), was regent of Russia for just over a year (1740–1741) during the minority of her infant son Emperor Ivan VI.
Anna Ioannovna (Russian: Анна Иоанновна; 7 February [O.S. 28 January] 1693 – 28 October [O.S. 17 October] 1740), also russified as Anna Ivanovna and sometimes anglicized as Anne, served as regent of the duchy of Courland from 1711 until 1730 and then ruled as Empress of Russia from 1730 to 1740.
Born: Rostock, 7 (18) December 1718. Died: Kholmogory, 7 (18) March 1746. Regent: 1740-1741. Grand Duchess Anna Leopoldovna was the daughter of Princess Catherine (the daughter of Ivan V and sister of Empress Anna Ioannovna), and Duke Leopold of Mecklenburg-Schwerin in northern Germany.
