St Mary's Church in Handsworth, South Yorkshire, is a Church of England parish church about miles (5.6 km) east of the centre of Sheffield, England. History. St Mary's was originally a Norman church built in about 1170. It was founded by the Norman lord, William de Lovetot, or his father Richard, and the foundations were planned by William Paynel.
