Jonathan Barry Prendergast [1], dit John Barry, né le 3 novembre 1933 à York (Angleterre, Royaume-Uni) et mort le 30 janvier 2011 à Oyster Bay (État de New York, États-Unis), est un compositeur britannico-américain de musique de film.

Famous composer of film music, most associated in the public mind with a tune he did not in fact write, namely the James Bond theme, which was credited as from the pen of Monty Norman. He did enjoy a long association with the Bond franchise, and also penned themes for many other films and TV shows.
As he was brought up in a cinematic environment, he soon began to assimilate the music which accompanied the films he saw nightly to a point when, even before he'd left St. Peters school, he had decided to become a film music composer.
