In 2021, he became the first Korean to be recognized by the Hollywood Music in Media Awards for his contribution to “Squid Game."
It was released under the Genie Music and Stone Music Entertainment labels on 30 May 2019, the same day as the film's release and featured musical score composed by Jung Jae-il, who previously collaborated with Bong for Okja (2017).
